ST JAMES CHURCH, RIVER WYE II

Gesso and acrylic on 300lb cotton paper.

76cm x 56cm

This painting was inspired from a circular walk from Chepstow to Lancault, along the banks of the river Wye.  It is in a group of four paintings.

In this painting I wanted to emphasise the interlocking shapes around the ruined church.  This the second version of St James Church.   There are also two paintings from Wintour’s Leap, which are the cliffs in the distance.

All 4 paintings were inspired by the one walk in May.
